Executive Summary
Winter Springs, Fla. – A well-rounded group of 37 percent Democrat, 36 percent Republicans and 27 percent Independent voters had some interesting opinions about current State of Florida political races for the upcoming November 4th election and potential Federal match-ups in 2016. Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research firm based in Winter Springs, Fla. recently conducted a random survey of 861 likely voters in Florida. The poll, which relied upon Gravis Marketing IVR Automated Phone Call technology has a margin of error of plus or minus three percent.

The Gravis Marketing poll was kicked off by asking Florida voters about their opinions on the job performance of President Barack Obama. 53 percent of those asked stated they disapprove of his job performance, 38 percent support his current job performance while nine percent were currently unsure of their opinion.
The Florida voters were also asked about potential match-ups for the 2016 Presidential race, comparing Democrat Hillary Clinton against three-different potential Republican candidates; Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan. Clinton currently maintains a two-percent lead over Paul Ryan, and a seven percent margin over current Florida Senator Marco Rubio. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush currently holds a slight one-percent lead over Clinton.
State of Florida Recap
The highly contested and watched political match-up for State of Florida Governor was the next focus of the Gravis Marketing poll. The first question asked of the likely Florida voters stated, “If the election for Governor were held today, who would you vote for?” 44 percent indicated they would currently vote for Charlie Crist, 42 percent would vote for Rick Scott while with only 8 days remaining before election day, nearly 14 percent still remain undecided.
The voters were then asked, Did you watch the previous Florida Governor debate? 52 percent indicated they had not watched the debate, while 48 percent had watched the debate. Of those that did watch the debate and answered ‘YES’, they were then asked, “If yes, did the fan issue change your opinion of Charlie Crist or Rick Scott?” 37 percent indicated they were unsure if their opinion changed, 33 percent stated their opinion of Charlie Crist did change and 30 percent believe their opinion of Rick Scott was influenced by the debate.
The final question in the Gravis Marketing poll brought up a highly controversial ballet initiative asking, If the 2014 election were held today, how would you vote for the current amendment Use of Marijuana for Certain Medical Conditions? This ballet initiative allows the medical use of marijuana for individuals with debilitating diseases as determined by a licensed Florida physician, and allows caregivers to assist patients’ medical use of marijuana. The Department of Health shall register and regulate centers that produce and distribute marijuana for medical purposes and shall issue identification cards to patients and caregivers. Applies only to Florida law. Does not authorize violations of federal law or any non-medical use, possession or production of marijuana. Would you vote for or against the amendment?
50 percent of the Florida voters stated they would vote YES on the amendment while 42 percent stated they’d vote NO. With only eight days remaining until the election, a powerful eight percent of undecided voters might hold the key to whether or not this ballot initiative passes of fails to receive the mandatory 60 percent support needed to make a change to the State of Florida’s Constitution.
