Executive Summary

Human Events and Gravis Marketing conducted a random survey of 781 registered likely voters in Montana regarding statewide candidates  by automated calls to landlines and live calls to mobile phones on 7/24/14.  The poll carries a margin of error of 3.5% with a 95% confidence level. The results follow.

Gravis Marketing’s latest survey of the Montana Senate race revealed that Steve Daines (R) has increased his over the embattled John Walsh (D). Daines currently leads  Walsh 45% to 38% with the Libertarian candidate Roger Roots receiving 9% support in the poll. This is a change from a  previous poll conducted by Garvis Marketing  released earlier this week showing  Walsh trailing only by 4 points (45% to 41%).  “This sudden change from respondents might have to do with the fact that Montanans are just learning that John Walsh may have plagiarized his master thesis in college,” said Cherie Bereta Hymel the head of Gravis Marketing. He added, “Now it looks like Steve Daines is the clear favorite for taking this seat for the Republicans.”
