Gravis Marketing Florida poll shows Rick Scott losing to Charlie Crist and Hilary Clinton Beating Marco Rubio
The official results of a random-survey Florida poll conducted by Human Events and Gravis Marketing may surprise some and disappoint others. Gravis Marketing conducted the poll from 11-8-2013 through 11-10-2013 using an automated service to call a random sampling of 932 registered voters in Florida. Poll topics included questions about Obamacare, medical marijuana, gun control, gay marriage and upcoming elections, including the Florida governorship.
With a 3% margin of error, results show that current governor, Rick Scott would lose to former governor Charlie Crist if the election were held today. Forty-six percent of those polled said they would vote for Crist while only 36% said they would support Scott, the current governor. Among Independents Crist holds an even stronger lead with 51% voting in his favor and only 30% supporting Scott. Fifty-two percent of those polled disapprove of Rick Scott and 33% believe Scott does not understand the needs of average Floridians. Perhaps most revealing about Floridians’ opinions of the two men is the poll question “If you were broken down, who do you think would stop and offer help to fix your tire?” Of the two men, Crist was chosen as the most likely to help, but 42% of those polled thought neither politician would be helpful.
Floridians weighing in on social issues leaned left. The majority agreed medical marijuana should be available in their state, that gun rights should be restricted and that gay marriage should be allowed. However, 48% of those polled answered no to “Should the state of Florida have cooperated with Obamacare?”
Poll results give Marco Rubio a narrow margin of approval, with 44% saying they approve and 43% saying they disapprove. Hillary Clinton scored high approval marks; 54% of those polled said they approved of the former Secretary of State and 42% said they disapproved. When asked who they would vote for, Rubio or Clinton, if the presidential election were held today, Hillary Clinton led by 4%
Human Events and Gravis Marketing conducted a random survey of 932 registered Florida voters regarding current events, including the Florida governorship, medical marijuana, gay marriage, Obamacare, and gun rights, among others.
